ABSTRACT
In general the Tao for conducting siege warfare is to encircle the enemy on all four sides but leave a corner open in order to display a route to life. If you are able to cause the enemy's fighting not to be stalwart, the city can be taken and their army defeated. A tactical principle from the Art of War states: "If you besiege an army, you must leave an outlet."
