ABSTRACT
Headache, low energy, lack of appetite, distorted vision, and nausea are symptoms of hypoxia, insufficient oxygen reaching the body's tissues due to decreased partial pressure of oxygen in the air at higher altitudes. Entire populations have resided at high altitudes for several thousand years in the Himalaya, the Andes, and the Ethiopian Plateau.
