ABSTRACT

Without discipline, one does not create intellectual work, read texts seriously, write carefully, observe and analyze facts, or establish relationships among them. And may all this not lack the love for adventure, for daring, but neither may it lack a sense of limits so that the adventure and daring to create do not become undisciplined irresponsibility. Freedom needs to learn to affirm denying, not only by denying but as a criterion of certainty. It is in this movement of coming and going that freedom ends by internalizing authority and becomes a freedom with authority only as, while an authority, it respects freedom. For the act of teaching to be constituted as such, the act of learning must be preceded by or concomitant with the act of learning the content or the knowable object, with which the learners also become producers of the knowledge that was taught to them.
