ABSTRACT

Thomas Aquinas was a philosopher and theologian. He effectively used the new translations of Aristotle into Latin to create a very naturalistic philosophical system that owes much to Aristotle. Aquinas created commentaries on Aristotle and incorporated many ethical, logical, and metaphysical distinctions in his master work, Summa Theologica. There was a chill in the early morning March air. The ides were approaching. The light was dim. Two men in plain Cistercian robes were standing with the mayor in front of a form clad in a simple Dominican habit. The brothers were both slight in stature: one short and the other of medium height. The countess started to pace back and forth. Then she circled the slab that held her nephew. When she stopped she put her hands defiantly to her waist. The count turned and looked again over the plains. It was a beautiful countryside.
