ABSTRACT

Articles are continually being published on the complete futility and on the counterrevolutionary character of Futurism between covers made by the hand of the Construetivist. In the most official editions, Futurist poems are published side by side with the most destructive summings up of Futurism. But one can say with certainty that much in Futurism will be useful and will serve to elevate and to revive art, if Futurism will learn to stand on its own legs, without any attempt to have itself decreed official by the government, as happened in the beginning of the Revolution. The Proletkult is united to the Futurists by living cords. It would be extremely flippant to establish by analogies and comparisons the identity of Futurism and Communism, and so form the deduction that Futurism is the art of the proletariat. In the evolution of that art, Futurism will prove to have been a necessary link.
