ABSTRACT
Statement: I arrived in the United States fully formed, or so I thought, in the fall of 1979, but the world split apart. My poetry, House of a Thousand Doors (1988), The Storm (1989), and Night Scene, The Garden (1992); my novel, Nampally Road (1991); and my memoir, Fault Lines (1993), have been ways of working through memory, into this new world.
