ABSTRACT
Statement: I am thrilled to be a second-generation South Asian American woman living in the United States. This is an exciting time for our community. We are in the midst of challenging ourselves and others to define what it means to be South Asian American and to negotiate and reconcile the two spheres of beliefs, values, and thoughts in whose intersection we find ourselves. Amid this energetic confusion, writing reveals answers and raises new questions; it provides perspective and insight into who I am.
