ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book argues that, despite the poll critics, most have figured out that public opinion polling provides absolutely essential information that can be used for a variety of purposes. It explains many Americans, often for sundry reasons, hate pollsters and polls and take great joy in constantly ridiculing them. The book also argues that polls can easily be defended from their detractors, as long as one is willing to listen, because pollsters are indeed mostly professionals with integrity and their polls have obviously proved quite valuable to so many. It argues that, admittedly, there are some bad pollsters and bad polls. The book discusses terrible polls that irritate the good pollsters, the truth is that plenty of commendable polls are being cranked out by professional pollsters.
