ABSTRACT
In this chapter the following question, which is fundamental to Catastrophe Theory, is investigated: When is a smooth function f determined in a neighborhood of a point p by one of its Taylor polynomials at p in the sense that every other function having the same Taylor polynomial coincides with f around p up to a smooth change of coordinates?
