ABSTRACT

As a reward for our factory's achievements, the People's Commissariat of Forestry sent us a motorcar, an M-l, for the director's transportation. Neposedov's happiness was indescribable. He had long dreamed of having an automobile—and now his dream had come true. At first Neposedov neglected all his factory duties and occupied himself solely with the car. Walking around his own "Little M" ten times a day, he gazed at it with tender fondness, stroking its shiny fenders caressingly as one might a racehorse. He took driving lessons for a week and obtained an amateur chauffeur's license. Henceforth he went everywhere in his "personal" automobile.
