ABSTRACT
Some people see abortion as murder. Others see it as every woman's right. No other political issue has generated such controversy and emotion in the United States over the past few years. Abortion and birth control should be illegal. For this reason, sexual intercourse should be restricted to marriage and serve primarily as a means of procreation. since pregnancy can occur at any time, women's educational and occupational ambitions should take a back seat to their primary tasks as wives and mothers. Abortion should be legal so that, if contraception fails, women can control their fertility. This position means that women and men should be able to plan the birth of their children, fitting them into their educational and occupational ambitions. Their family backgrounds, educational histories, and lifestyles (mainly the number of children they have borne) make their careers possible.
