Discrete functions of molecular distributions

For dense phases (liquid, solid in bulks and for adsorbed phases on the surfaces of condensed phases), lattice models in which the states of molecules were characterized by a small number of parameters: the coordinate of the centre of the cell (or the lattice site) and its energy of interaction with neighbouring molecules were widely used. In addition to this set of state parameters, the lattice models differ in the nature of the site’s occupancy states.
