ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines the elimination and choice translating reality (ELECTRE) method of multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) and its application in textiles. A brief view of the ELECTRE method is given in Section 4.1. The main operation of ELECTRE is presented in Section 4.2. The step-by-step working principle of ELECTRE with an example of a MCDM problem is explained in Section 4.3. Section 4.4 deals with the application of ELECTRE in the field of textiles. Section 4.4 also presents the selection of bulletproof body armor using the ELECTRE method. This chapter also provides the MATLAB coding of the ELECTRE algorithm.
