This chapter is based on a phone interview between Alex Wilson, director of the University of Saskatchewan’s Aboriginal Research Education Centre, and Marie Laing, graduate student at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Centered around questions on land-based pedagogies, two-spirit organizing, and community-centered scholarship, the conversation contextualizes shifting usages of two-spirit as a term and points toward necessary directions for further work.
