ABSTRACT

The main objective of this chapter is to depict the role of merchandiser in the product development process that is involved in the apparel product development. This chapter details the various steps involved in the apparel product development with respect to merchandiser’s view. Detailed examples provided in each step of the process will improve the ease of understanding. The apparel analysis and customer profiling process and their importance in merchandiser’s day‐to‐day activities are also described with examples.
