ABSTRACT

The chapter reports the findings of a research project on developing students’ intercultural sensitivity through telecollaboration between Spanish students from the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia and Polish students from the University of Opole. The students participated in an online exchange that involved completing a number of tasks. The tool used to test their intercultural sensitivity growth was Chen and Starosta’s (2000) Intercultural Sensitivity Scale. The main hypothesis-that intercultural tandem learning positively correlates with developing student’s intercultural sensitivity-was corroborated. The most significant gains were observed in interaction, engagement and enjoyment.
