Thermophysical finite element analysis of thawing of frozen soil by means of HT-CPT cone penetrometer

The paper presents the results of the FE-based numerical thermophysical analysis of geocryological factors (soil type, temperature and moisture) and constructive-technological factors (power, heating and cooling time) having an effect on the thawing area size around the HT-CPT cone penetrometer. Based on the results obtained, the empirical dependencies are proposed to predict the depth and diameter of thawing area around the HT-CPT cone penetrometer.
