ABSTRACT

The article analyses how India’s ‘new’ foreign policy was already expounded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the weeks leading to the 2014 elections and then executed in the years 2014–2017. This new foreign policy of Narendra Modi is a clear emanation of BJP-specific/Hindutva cognitive ‘frames’ and major features of a new foreign policy ideology can be derived as a direct result of using such frames.
