ABSTRACT

Performance is a critical component of Lean. It is about ensuring that decisions are based on facts and figures rather than opinion and conjecture. Performance, like all other dimensions of Lean information technology (IT), starts with the customer. Need to choose the right indicators. Performance indicators must be related to agreed objectives and/or critical success factors. A Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is a performance measure that supports the execution of the strategy. A KPI cascades from the strategic level to the operational level and is consistent across the organization. Committing to self-development is the pre-requisite for the success of Lean within any organization, and it is no different for IT organizations. By self-development, we mean the act of reflecting honestly on one’s own actions, thoughts, behavior and attitude with the aim of making these more effective. Self-development is an activity that requires both individual reflection and feedback from outside.
