ABSTRACT

This chapter provides clarification for the project’s initial design document is read, the client representative is introduced, and the initial code base is introduced, which we call project launch. Whenever possible, an initial site visit during project launch is invaluable; student developers get a first-hand feeling for the mission of the non-profit, as well as for the paper-based system that their software will replace. In the early days of software development, all the members of a software team would work in the same physical space throughout the life of the project. The software platform software platform needed for developing a CO-free and open source software product combines a programming language and a database, and also a server if the product is a client-server application. Software systems have a large number of files that change over time as additions, deletions, and modifications are made to the code base.
