ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 introduces digital content as a powerful tool for digital entrepreneurs to attract and satisfy customers. Most web sites today use content management software to organize and deliver their online presence to customers. Content management software makes it easier for non-technical experts to publish and edit content, change the appearance of a site, and add new features. This chapter shows how to add and organize content using the most popular content management software, WordPress, but the same principles apply to other software as well. Digital content is organized into specific types and can be categorized for ease of access. Businesses dependent on digital content should have a content strategy which defines the content mix and production schedule, as well as a plan for updating and maintenance. This chapter also shows how to organize menus and navigation for a site.
