ABSTRACT

Our Epilogue ends the book in the same cemetery we opened with; telling stories of the ghosts buried within, we discuss the ways in which the past and the present come together in death. Our deaths are rife with cultural norms, collectivities, absences, and presences, and, we conclude, are full of life and love, battles and defeats, contests of will and contests of culture, and ramifications of the choices we make in our lives. We end the book with the wish that our deaths can move us into the future with hope and meaning.
