ABSTRACT

Each hospital has multiple policies in place to check on physician practices such as the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation and the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation. The goal of these policies should be to establish a systematic process to evaluate and confirm the current level of professional competence. An appropriate ad hoc committee should be formed with a physician present to grade the administrators of the hospital. The profession of CEO, COO, and CFO of the hospital, and of the regional and national service, should be regulated as the physician is regulated. Only a strict collaboration between the administration and physicians will get the results. As physicians takes exams, CME, and undergo peer review, the administrator should do the same. An appropriate ad hoc committee should be formed with a physician present to grade the administrators of the hospital. Administrator leadership is not regulated; they do not have to provide continuing medical education.
