ABSTRACT
On top of my desk, I keep a small collection of mementos gathered from trips taken over the years. I am now looking at a seashell with the off-white colors of the sandy beach and grooves that seem very old. I clearly see these markings on the shell and can show them to others. But where do I see that it’s my property? I would like to see something that shows that the shell is mine, but where do I look?
