ABSTRACT
This chapter shows that the growth of economic inequality, racial animus, and a repressive police state impacts the police and vigilante killings of African Americans. It attempts to uses all of the powers of the racial state at every branch and level to suppress any organized resistance to such oppression and the violence which helps maintain it. The chapter examines the racial and economic implications of the rise of Trumpism and its alliance with neoliberalism, and their negative impacts on low-income and poor people of color — including, of course, police and vigilante killings. In 1973, as a young man, Donald Trump and his father were sued for racial discrimination in the rental of apartments. Donald Trump continued to fan the flames of racial animus when he launched his presidential campaign, saying about the Mexican immigrants whom he had promised to keep out of the United States by building a wall.
