ABSTRACT

Along the evolution path of human species, the sense of time originated from the heavenly rhythm of solar bodies. People's sense of flow of time revolves around the sun: a day is defined by the cycle of sunrise and sunset, a month by the cycle of the moon, and a year by the predictable rhythm of the seasons. A silicon chip, an electronic system, is used to process information. Information receivable by a human’s five senses can show its presence in many different forms: sound, light, pressure, radio wave, mechanical vibration, temperature change, shock from electrical voltage/current, taste from chemical composition, and so forth. When information enters into a silicon chip, it can only be exhibited through electron movements, which are collectively represented as electrical voltage and/or current. Electrical oscillation can be created from an electrical circuit without much difficulty. Its output is an electrical pulse train. It is often used in circuit design for achieving many different functions.
