ABSTRACT
Project relevance: Canal construction involves soil excavation, which would likely cause changes in ground water conditions. This may result in water seepage under the structure, which would have an impact on the stress state in soil mass. This section will introduce the concept of a flow net, which is used to estimate the rate of water flow in soil mass.
