ABSTRACT

Benefits must be considered at the beginning of any investment. The benefits must become the focal point for the stakeholders, and the team as a whole, to ensure that decisions are based on the needs of those stakeholders and the eventual success criteria for the investment. The benefits will not materialize from the ether; they must be planned and nurtured and reviewed throughout the life of the initiative. To guide the actors in the initiative, a benefits life cycle has been developed, and shown in Figure 4.1, to reinforce the importance of action and repeated action.
