ABSTRACT
The ability to predict noise levels can play an important part in the control of noise.
To be sure of complying with any noise limits, it will be necessary for machinery operators to be able to predict noise levels, both within the workplace and external to the workplace, at the nearest noise-sensitive properties. When planning noisereduction measures, including alterations to the layout of the workplace, having the capability to predict levels from different options can allow noise-control measures to be optimised.
