ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The classification of environmental oil-contamination sources is considered. The main consequences, leading to soils quality, structure and properties degradation, are addressed under this article. The analysis of existing oil-containing wastes disposal approaches came with advantages and disadvantages evaluation of each one. The thermal method was chosen for development as the most promising for soil purification from oil products. The negative environmental impact of oil-products transportation and storage determines the urgency of the oil pollution problem and the need for ecologically effective and economically feasible method of soil purification. The experiment with thermal action on oil-contaminated soil was conducted. The thermal effect continued until the residual pollutant content began to exceed the permissible concentration. The developed soil purification method provides the possibility of returning the soil back to an ecosystem. The obtained results will be used for a comprehensive approach to the issue of soil contamination with oil products at various industrial facilities.
