ABSTRACT

There was a particular period in Portuguese culture at the second half of the 20th-century, more accurately at the beginning of the 1960s, where artists from different cultural areas came together to create innovative artistic expressions which portrait a time through the “State of the Soul” of the country. From painters to writers, photographers to sculptors, poets to journalists, they organised their works always depending on the opinions and revelations of others. It was the Third and last Portuguese Modernism. In this work, we connect the architecture filtered in literature which created innovative plastic expressions of the city.
