ABSTRACT

Chapter 6, “Measuring impact”, deals with ways to measure the outcome of the Authority’s actions, looking at the diverse types of corruption impact: from individual corrupt transactions, to the impact on government operations, to the depressing effect on GDP (foregone GDP) and the general tone of the country’s social climate. The importance is revealed of specific measurements and intermediate variables of anti-corruption action. Such measurements should be geared both at the administrative phase and at the impact of specific action. Action specific indicators are the only ones allowing improvements in anti-corruption effort.
