ABSTRACT
An 8-year-old boy presents to the pediatric trauma center with a laceration to his scalp. He was playing in the backyard when a ladder fell on his head. He is crying, but is consolable and has a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 15 without focal neurologic deficits. His examination reveals the following injury to his scalp.
