ABSTRACT

A 6-month-old full-term boy presents to his pediatrician with thrush that has not improved with nystatin. His mother comments to the pediatrician that her pregnancy history is notable for a positive rapid plasma reagin (RPR) (1:32). She was initially referred to a specialist, but when confirmatory testing was negative, his mother cancelled the appointment. The infant's RPR is sent and is 1:2048.
