ABSTRACT

A 12-month-old girl presents to the emergency room with a chief complaint of coughing. The father states she has been coughing for the past month. The cough has worsened over the past 3 days with some grunting noted today. She occasionally has episodes of gagging with vomiting of partially digested food. She has no fevers, there is no drooling, and she has adequate weight gain. Her chest x-ray revealed an eroded coin in the proximal esophagus. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780429435003/2bb12154-e53e-46cc-a47b-000836900a25/content/ufig158_1.jpg"/>
