ABSTRACT
The parents of a 2-week-old baby boy come to the emergency department after they had seen clear drainage and a red knot on his umbilicus today after the umbilical cord fell off. The baby is a term infant, delivered by normal spontaneous vaginal delivery. The mother received prenatal care and did not have any infections during her pregnancy. The baby has been nursing normally. There is no history of fever.
