ABSTRACT
A 13-year-old boy is brought in by paramedics after falling onto his right knee during basketball practice. He is unable to fully extend his right knee or bear weight, and prefers to keep his right leg in flexion. A “gap” is noted in the middle of the patella and the patella appears to be high riding. Anteroposterior and lateral knee radiographs are shown next.
