ABSTRACT
The mother of a 4-year-old boy brings him to the emergency department because he has “a ring stuck on his finger.” The patient was reportedly playing in the family's garage when he put a metal nut on his middle finger but was unable to remove it. The patient's mother attempted to pull the object off, but this only caused more swelling of the finger. The patient is complaining of pain of the middle finger. No other injuries are reported.
