ABSTRACT
The Soviet delegation tried to add the wording ‘This should be performed by the state’ in practically all articles, a suggestion which was voted down at every step. However, when it came to the rights of women, the Soviet Union male delegates enhance their own position on non-discrimination and especially on equal pay for equal work by advancing the ambitions of the Commission on the Status of Women for including sex in the non-discrimination list of the Declaration.
