ABSTRACT
Since the beginning of economic and political restructuring in Eastern Europe foreign trade between Western and Eastern European countries has been growing considerably. Together with this increase freight transport in both directions has gained in importance. The road transport sector has particularly profited from this development. Above all, imports to countries of Eastern Europe rely on this transport mode.
