ABSTRACT

This chapter offers contextual summaries of each of the five generations of the twentieth century - G.I., Silent, Baby Boomer, Gen X, and Millennials. The purpose is to shed light on cultural context, significant events, and societal norms during the era in which each generation was coming of age. Doing so helps in understanding that generations are often a reflection of the context of their upbringing, which is ultimately passed down to subsequent generations.
