ABSTRACT

A comparison is made between scalar and vector control for induction motor drives. The system (VCIMD) is represented with a neat illustration along with its internal subsystems. The simulation evidence for the VCIMD with 6-, 12-, 18-, and 24-pulse converters is given along with its waveforms. It also contends that the choice of pulse has direct implications for power quality improvement and system reliability. The results are compared to show the effectiveness of VCIMD in improving power quality.
