T he starting point of this work is contemporary clinical experience”(Green, 1997a, p. 169, our italics). With these words, we caninfer that Green regards clinical experience as the point of departure for psychoanalysis, setting the foundations for the dialogue between practice and theory, demonstrating the often “cubist” nature of psychic reality and affirming the powerful potential of our discipline to get at the “inner truth” of lived experience.
