ABSTRACT
The chapter discusses the contributions of the Hungarian Marxist Georg Lukács to the development of critical theory, in particular his theory of reification, and the way in which critical theorists such as Jürgen Habermas and Axel Honneth critically reacted to and further developed his ideas.
