ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on joint work involving two specialist facilities located close together in East Sussex: Chailey Heritage, a centre for children with physical and neurological impairments and Clermont Child Protection Unit, a service for the investigation, assessment and treatment of child abuse. Both centres operate within the public sector. Our combined experience is in working with abused and disabled children and young people, and teaching and consulting on issues relating to child protection and disability.
