ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book presents the philosophical and practical analyses, answering some of the questions posed, and giving an indication of new ways that could lead to a stronger, central context for equality issues in education. Because of the general current concern for Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Humans Rights Convention, and the passing of Human Rights Acts in different countries, it may be more readily accepted at senior levels of management. Areas normally included are race, culture, gender, special needs, and disability. However, the interconnection between these categories is fully appreciated. The structure of departments and knowledge is varied within, and across, higher education institutions. Employers are often forgotten when equal opportunities policies are monitored. If victims of racism in higher education institutions are able to complete their qualifications, they may need to face and overcome racism when looking for jobs.
