ABSTRACT

Whatever the actual outcome may be in the monetary sense ... the London Bus men have won a victory for every trade unionist with a wage claim pending. By their determination, they have at least placed a brake on Governmental Policy which has sought to ensure that wages shall not rise with the cost of living ... As the spearhead in the fight to maintain the living standards of the working-class of our country their display of solidarity is almost without example in the history of our Movement ... they are virtually fighting the battle of the whole of the British Trade Union Movement.1
