ABSTRACT

When seeking to explore human behaviour, the methods by which the data on behaviour is collected, analysed and assessed determine, to some extent at least, the type and form of insights that are available to the researcher. Therefore, reviewing the methods that are available to study driver behaviour is a good starting point when striving to obtain the current understanding of the underlying principals and facets of that behaviour. This chapter seeks to provide a review of the methods that can be used to study driver distraction as Human Factors researchers have used a range of methods and measures to study the behaviour.
