ABSTRACT

Organized abuser groups make particular efforts to have both their victims and those to whom they disclose dismiss what is said as having been made up. “Murders” which are designed to discredit the survivors are simulated. But it is observation that murders in which “traitors” are killed are most likely to be real, since they usually involve gruesome torture that is difficult to simulate. Organized perpetrator groups also deliberately create screen or “cover” memories of impossible or highly improbably events such as alien abductions. Organized perpetrator groups also discourage disclosures by training alters to make survivors remember all the events—especially crimes—in which the child has been made to take part, such as the real or simulated murders and rapes that ritually abusive groups commonly perpetrate. Many survivors feel they would believe their own memories if they only had some external validation.
