ABSTRACT
The stories in the following chapters will be difficult to read, but they can help to prepare you for what you are likely to hear from your clients. Be warned that graphic details of sexual abuse and physical torture are included, so you as a therapist can understand more fully what your clients may have experienced and be better prepared when you hear it for the first few times. It is also my hope that these testimonies will help readers to see the humanity behind what has for so long been sensationalized, misunderstood, or dismissed.
